Geek Table - Sixth Meeting 18/02/2013

Here are the notes that I made from the sixth Geek Table meeting. This is the one that was really the turning point for this brief as we have had the ideas floating around for what we are doing but nothing really too solid, so we stripped it back as to why we're actually doing this and how we should take it forward. I suggested that we needed to somehow link in with the whole 'geek' thing that we have in our name, because then it would make more sense and give us more of a direction.

Why are we doing this?

  • promote selfs
  • get our work out there
Geeks - underlying theme

Geek roles - type, drawing branding, etc

We assigned the role for each of us, these are the initial ones and may change depending on how the brief pans out.
  • Kirsty Cave - Origami Geek/Paper Geek
  • Beth Yates - Illustrator Geek
  • Kirsty Alderson - Handy Geek/Hand Drawn Geek/Doodle Geek
  • Sophie Wilson - Print Geek
  • Lisa Whitaker - Concept Geek
  • Baljeet Samra - Pattern Geek
  • Sarah Pritchard - Type Geek
  • Claudia Griffin - Craft Geek
We could also look into having an Adopted Geek for any future exhibitions to also have them exhibit.

Look at what a stereotypical geek is/has.
