Brief 10 - Book Mock Ups

Now that I am pretty much sorted with the book (just might need a few minor tweaks when I look back on it after taking a step back), I have decided to print out a mock up of the book. For this I just used normal copy paper stock for the inner pages of it, and then a sheet of 160gsm white card for the cover.

The book works quite nicely. And because it isn't bound, I decided to print out a black cover as well to see if this works better/worse/same.

I think it would work better if my printer wasn't so shitty at printing black. Looking at the quality that it has printed using just the normal paper it hasn't turned out very well as the print on each side of the stock shows through, as shown...

I do have a nice silk stock that is heavier though that could work quite nice? Decided to print a version of the book using this stock for the inner pages, and keeping the cover stock as the 160gsm card.

The silk stock works a lot nicer and the black prints a lot better on to it. It has given the book an overall more professional feel to it. I'll get a couple more printed out to take along for the yearbook photo that will be in to represent myself, along with the cups and what not. I'm happy with how this book has turned out.
