Brief 10 - Book Drinks Descriptions

So to start adding the descriptions to the book for each of the coffees, I used the notes that I have made to do so. For each drink, I've decided I am going to have a short phrase which basically summarises what the drink is, and then have the description. Here goes.


Espresso
The pure coffee.

An Espresso is the simplest and strongest form of coffee in its purest form - available as either a single or a double shot. A good quality double espresso consists of two times seven grams of freshly ground coffee extracted for twenty seconds from a coffee machine, and will have a dark golden layer of crema on top.

Alternate variations of this includes Macchiato - topped up with steamed milk, and Espresso Con Panna - topped off with whipped cream.


Americano
The ‘normal’ coffee.

An Americano is the closest option available to a ‘normal’ or ‘straight forward’ coffee, being black with the option to add milk if preferred.

The name for the Americano came from the battlefield during WWII when the American GI’s in Europe insisted on topping up their espresso with hot water in order to dilute them due to them being too strong.


Cappuccino
The frothy coffee.

A Cappuccino is the most famous and popular coffee available, consisting of equal parts of espresso, steamed milk and froth.

Also, upon request, a choice of chocolate or cinnamon is sprinkled on top for an extra delicious taste.


Caffe Latte
The milky coffee.

A Caffé Latte is the weakest coffee consisting of just one shot of espresso, topped up with steamed milk and a small amount of foam. It is one of the popular choices of coffee, and is perfect for adding flavours. The most favoured flavours include caramel, vanilla and hazelnut.

The name of a Caffé Latte is Italian, with the word Caffé meaning coffee, and the word Latte meaning milk.


Mocha
The chocolatey coffee.

A Mocha is the perfect indulgent treat for any lover of coffee and chocolate alike. With a double shot of espresso, topped up with hot chocolate, it tastes just like heaven in a cup.

For an extra special treat, also try adding a flavoured syrup such as hazelnut or caramel to give it a twist.
